Dam Mon is a beautiful paradise peninsula that belongs to Van Phong Bay,
about 90km north of Nha Trang City on National Highway 1A. The beautiful and
pristine Dam Mon Peninsula is a true paradise on earth, sheltered by two
"brothers" Hon Gom and Hon Lon, so there are no big waves all year round,
making the sea here so clean and clear that you can see the bottom.
With an area of 128 km2, Dam Mon is also the "home" of more than 20 large
and small islands, with 30 beaches and a pristine forest ecosystem in the
shape of a bow, creating a beautiful picture in the middle of the sea.
In addition, Dam Mon also has all the natural elements to develop ecotourism
such as climate, coastline, mountains, landscapes, environment, seaports and
seafood supply. This place is also likened to the image of a beautiful,
gentle, and charming fishing village girl, with a gentle and peaceful
personality, hidden deep inside is a deep soul, captivating people. The
beauty of Dam Mon peninsula conquers the hearts of any visitor who sets foot
here.
Starting from Nha Trang city, tourists travel north for 2 hours, with a
distance of 94km to reach Dam Mon peninsula. Then, you go along Pham Van
Dong avenue to reach National Highway 1A. At the foot of Co Ma pass, you
turn to the new road on the right. A secret for backpackers, this is the
route considered the most beautiful in Vietnam, because it is surrounded by
beautiful white sand dunes, looking out to the horizon, you can easily see
Dam Mon in the distance with blue sea and golden sunshine.
Things to do in Dam Mon?
The first stop on the journey to explore Dam Mon is the rocky cliffs of Khai
Luong village. Khai Luong village is a fishing village located in Van Phong
bay. Although it is only 10km from the center of Van Thanh commune, there is
absolutely no road leading to this fishing village.
Khai Luong village's rocky cliff is about 2 hours away from Van Gia port by
motorboat. The fishing village's residents mainly live on the front and back
beaches.
When you set foot on the rocky cliffs of Khai Luong village, you will be
immediately attracted by the white sand beaches, clear blue sea water, and
admire the many colorful coral reefs.
Xuan Dung Beach
Another great spot in Dam Mon is Xuan Dung beach. Xuan Dung is also known as
Son Dung, quite far from Nha Trang city center about 80km to the North.
However, Xuan Dung beach is still a place that attracts thousands of
tourists every year because of its unique, unmistakable quality.
Thien An Pagoda
A tourist destination not to be missed when visiting Dam Mon is Thien An
Pagoda. This is a famous spiritual tourist destination because it has a
beautiful view in the middle of the ocean and is hidden on a hill jutting
out into the bay.
Thien An Pagoda has a spacious, airy campus and not too elaborate
architecture, on a rocky mountain area, surrounded by airy rows of green
trees and many different types of extremely pretty flowers.
The special highlight when mentioning Thien An Pagoda is its "golden
quadrilateral" position, with all four sides facing the sea.
Visitors can both go to the temple to offer incense and walk around,
watching the fishing boats of fishermen anchored next to the fishing
village, the basket boats swaying in the middle of the sea, or the floating
houses lying on the calm sea. Occasionally, you can hear the temple bells
mixed with the sound of waves, creating a peaceful sound...
